"It is a 'beaut'," Grace smiled. She looked at Colin and then back at the car. "A 1966
Pontiac GTO Convertible. The first true muscle car."

"I've got pictures at the shop, Grace. I'll give you a look see. When I was a kid, my brother had a GTO. I loved that car and always wanted one. By the time I was old enough to have one, they'd sorta disappeared or were already being collected and ya needed real money. I never had any. When I got here, I still didn't, but I did find a beat up GTO and I've got the skills to fix about anything on four wheels with an engine. I guess the little boy never goes away too far." Colin smiled at her and shut up. That was about more than he usually said in one day. He held her hand firmly as he led her down into the soft sand. The
sound of the surf hitting the shore was mesmerizing. The sun was about to disappear from the sky. It glowed in the horizon.

Grace squeezed Colin's hand, not wanting to turn it loose. She looked out at the water and then down at
the sand. "Yes, this looks like a nice spot."

"It's very beautiful here, Grace." Colin answered her, but he wasn't looking at their surroundings at the moment. He was looking at the gorgeous sheila sitting by his side. A breeze ruffled up the edge of the blanket. Colin pinned it down with his boot. "No yawning, love. I'm ready." He flicked the flashlight on, and then off. "Just let me know when the light gets too dim for ya. Go ahead, Grace." He smiled at her, waiting for her to begin. ![]() |

She lost her train of thought for a moment when he looked at her. It came back when the breeze exposed part of
her thigh. Wearing a silk dress on a windy beach wouldn't be a good way to stay covered. Grace reached down to tuck her dress under her legs the best she
could.

Each time her skirt blew up and she smoothed it down, Colin wanted to push her hand away and replace it with his. Hell, he was a red blooded bloke and Grace had great legs. It started to get pretty dark when he switched on the flashlight. She kept reading, but now the tone of the story had changed. It went from thriller to sex and it was hot and heavy. And pretty explicit. He started doing times tables in his mind. He managed to keep the flashlight steady, but couldn't remember any more of his numbers. He listened to her voice seductively read the scene. Finally it was over and the couple in the book weren't the only ones about to explode. He cleared his voice and swallowed. His voice came out huskier than he expected. "What happened next, love?" ![]() |

When Grace looked up from the book, Colin was leaning towards her. She could feel the heat from his body and his voice all over her. He was gazing into her eyes. She looked into them long enough to discern every shade of blue and green in them. She blinked and looked back down to the book. "He told her he loved her. She wanted to believe him. But he was a killer. And she had evidence against him." Grace looked back up at Colin. "She had to decide how much…she wanted him." "It's the quiet ones you have to watch out for." |

When she'd looked up into his eyes, Colin fell and fell hard. "Um, let's take a break for a tic, Grace. Till we find out what she did." He took the book out of her hand and carefully laid it down in the same place to mark where she was. Then he knelt beside her, put down the flashlight and pulled her into his arms. His lips found hers. When they broke from the kiss, Colin asked her. "What does she do next, love?" ![]() |

She was breathless. Grace had never been kissed that way. It left her heart racing and her thoughts lingering on other places on her body where she wanted Colin to kiss her like that. She took a breath first before answering him. Grace was trying to focus on the character in the book and not how much she wanted Colin to kiss her again. "She tells him she won't turn him in. She doesn't know if he believes her. He tells her he will meet her the next week. When he doesn't show up, she thinks he has left her. She doesn't know the police found other evidence against him and had already taken him in. He thinks she did turn him in. They never see each other again."

Colin saw the effect the kiss had on her. He sure as bloody hell felt how it made him feel. He intended to do that again, and soon. He listened carefully to what happened at the end of her story. He flipped his fingers back through his hair before he answered. "Sad ending, love. Sounds a little too much like real life. What are you looking for in life Grace?" Colin thought to ask her what her hopes and dreams were. Maybe it was too soon to ask a quesition like that. Especially when Colin wasn't sure what he wanted in life. He'd been kind of aimless for a few years. This had been the most stable or settled he may have ever felt. He liked it here and what he was doing. ![]() |

Grace closed her eyes briefly when Colin's hand slipped into her hair. She was drawn in by Colin more than she had been to any man before. She had to look away and sigh at his question. She wasn't sure if she should answer. But, at least she would give him an honest answer. "Love. I have everything thing else. I haven't had a hard time acquiring money and things." Grace stood up and smoothed down her dress. "I know love is the only thing someone can have that has true value. I thought I had found it before. I was wrong." She turned back to him and smiled. "Sorry, you were probably expecting me to say something like I want to be a nationally renowned author. That would be nice too," She laughed. "What about you, Colin? What are you looking for in life?"

"Don't apologize for speakin' from your heart, love." He caught her hand in his. Feeling the need to touch her. "Hmm, what am I looking for?" Colin wasn't an introspective guy. It wasn't something he'd ever thought much about, though lately..."I'm looking for happiness, Grace. And I don't think it's that easy a thing to find. Hey, we're both still looking, love." Colin laid down on his back with one arm cradled beneath his neck. The flashlight gave them enough light to see each other's upper bodies. "Here's to ya, Grace. I hope you find the love yer looking for." His thick workman's fingers brushed across her soft feminine cheek. ![]() |

"I hope you do too, Colin." She spoke softly to him looking into his eyes. He had a heart and an intensity that brought a smile to her face. Grace didn't want to think about whether or not she and Colin would be good for each other, or how brief a time she had to find out. She just wanted to react to the way she felt being near him. She leaned over and kissed him softly.

Colin put his hands on either side of her face and drew Grace in for a longer and deeper kiss. This time his hands really roamed through her silky blonde
hair. It was so soft. He wondered what it would feel like brushing against his naked chest. Somewhere in the back his mind, he promised himself he'd
find out sometime. He liked Grace a lot. He wouldn't push for it tonight, but he wanted to know sometime what she would feel like laying naked on top of
him. He pulled her closer to him and nibbled lightly on her lower lip. His tongue skated across it, asking permission to enter her mouth.
He longed to taste a little bit of her beyond her lips. ![]() |

Grace moaned softly and allowed his tongue to taste hers. She slid her arm around his chest. For long moments she forgot about where they were, what time it was, how dark it had gotten, or how cool the breeze was becoming. She pulled away slowly, in no hurry to break the kiss. "Colin, I think we should go now. It's not that I want to but my legs are freezing." She laughed and reached down to keep the breeze from blowing her dress completely up over her thighs. "It's the quiet ones you have to watch out for." |

"Sorry, love. I was getting a bit hot and bothered and I missed the change in temperature." Colin grinned at her, jumped up and held out his hand
to help her up. Once she stood, by impulse he knelt before her, took his hands to rub up and down her lower legs to warm them up. Her skin was cool to touch.
His sure as hell wasn't after touching her shapely legs. He finished and stood up before her. Colin took off his jacket and placed it around her
shoulders.
"If you'll hold the flashlight, Grace, I'll get the blaket folded and walk you back to your car." Colin wasn't sure what he should do next. Should he invite her over to his place? Was that being too forward and pushing too hard for her? Or should he ask her out on a date...for tomorrow? The more he thought about inviting her over to his tiny rooms, he wasn't so sure with a posh girl like Grace. He went through that whole tussle in his mind while he folded the blanket and by the time he'd finished, he hadn't come closer as to what he should do. He'd decide by the time they made it to the cars. The only thing Colin was positive of was he wasn't letting her get away with out a promise of meeting him in the future. He liked her a lot and thought Grace felt the same way. ![]() |

Grace held Colin's jacket by the collar to keep it from slipping off her shoulder. In her other hand, she steadied the flashlight so that he could see. Her senses were filled with his scent on the jacket and her legs still felt the residual tingling of his warm hands. She looked up and saw very few people still left on the beach. Grace wondered how long she and Colin had been out there. It didn't matter. Maybe he would like to sit with her on the beach again. She definitely wanted to. A swim in the ocean sounded even better. As he handed her book to her, she had a visual of the two of them splashing in the surf. Grace could tell Colin would look very good wet. He had the blanket over his arm, the flashlight in hand. With his other hand, he held hers and led her back to her car. They stood there quietly for a moment. Grace slipped off the jacket and gave it back to him. "Thank you, Colin." "It's the quiet ones you have to watch out for." |

"Ah, sure, Grace." Colin made his decision. "Could I meet ya here tomorrow or pick ya up to go to dinner and a movie? I'd like to see
ya again, love. It was a bonzer evening."

"I'd like to see you again too, Colin. Dinner and a movie sounds good. I haven't been to a movie theater in a while. I usually wait for the DVD and then curl up on the sofa or in bed to watch." The mention of 'bed' had Grace thinking of something else entirely. She cleared her throat and reached for one of his hands. She let her thumb brush over the top as she pulled gently, hoping he would kiss her once more before they said 'good night.'

Colin wasn't that dense that he didn't get Grace's sign of pulling him forward. He didn't need any extra prompting to do what he'd been
wanting to do since he kissed her on the beach. He pulled her into his arms and slipped his hands around her tiny waist. His face lowered toward hers.
Colin's lips found hers as she tipped her beautiful face and lips toward his. The glimpse of her face before her and then his eyes slipped shut, made his
heart jump. Colin knew at that moment that he could fall and fall hard for this girl. With as different as they were, he didn't know if that was such a
hot idea, but at this moment somebody could have hit him over the head with a hammer and he was still kissing this girl and taking her out as soon as she'd
go with him.
Colin captured her lower lip and then her upper lip. Then sucking on both. His tongue slipped in to taste her mouth again. A little groan slipped from his throat. And maybe he shouldn't, but bloody hell he was doing it anyway, he pulled her body to mold to his so she'd feel just how badly he wanted her. There was no denying the reaction his body was having for her when he pressed it against her. One hand started to slip down to touch her curvy little arse, but he stopped at the small of her back, thinking he'd probably already pushed the posh girl too far. ![]() |
