"Sandie, uh Darce, Uh...Sandie." Jason placed a kiss on Sandie's cheek. "Love, we were just about to make an escape to parts unknown." Jason looked like a cat at a tennis match. He was caught between the proverbial rock ..meaning Sandie and the hard place ..meaning Darcy, two of the most beautiful woman around these parts. Jason, being Jason offered a relaxed smile as he offered an arm to each of them. "I'll buy you both a drink but someplace else where we can talk in private." he turned to look at his father who was still sporting an angry face. "Far away from meddling rellies."
Sandie's husband didnt even realize she'd left him. |

Darcy held out her hand. "Hi Sandi. I'm Darcy. Friend of Jason's. And uh...his father."
She cast an eye Sean's way. "Jason, if we're going, we better get now or the jig will be up. He's looking around..." |

"Hey Darcy." Sandi smiled and turned her head in Sean's direction and waved.
"Darcy, I think you're right, we'd better get a wiggle on, he'll be over here in two tics, his nose will be getting the better of him." |

"Don't wave! Damn, too late..." muttered Darcy, giving up and waving at Sean too.
She cast an appraising eye at Sandi and questioned, "Did you do that on purpose? If you did, it won't work. I'm still going out for that drink. With Jason. And I guess you." |

"It looks to me like he's turning his attention toward my sister for the time being." Jason did his best to hurry the two woman out the door. He noticed his father making a bee line for his sister and the captain. Thank Christ it was her turn for a change.
"I think we're safe for now. my loves." Lordy if those two lovely ladies knew what was on his mind at the moment he'd probably get a set of knees to his ..set. ![]() |

"My loves? Jason what's up with you mate?" Sandi wasn't above being an aussie sheila when she was with him.

"I bet I know what's up," Darcy said without thinking, and clapped a hand over her mouth. "Oh jeez...forget I said that, will you?"
She looked at Sandi, and without consciously planning it, they both looked down. Didn't mean to, really. But sometimes a girl's eyes have a mind of their own. |

"Okay, Okay, give a bloke a break. I sure as shit ain't dead, you know." The last bit was not a question but it was a firm direct statement.
"I'll admit it, my mind is in the bloody gutter but what do you expect? I reckon I had to give it a go but it seems you two lovely sheila's are
not about to cooperate. No worries and no hitting me. I've been through that before. You both love me don't you?"

"Jason? Hi, it's Darcy."
She paused and bit her lip, suddenly thinking this was a bad idea. And rude...it was rude to call someone at what was obviously the last minute and hope to catch him without a date on such a special day. Especially a man like Jason Morgan, who never seemed to lack for female company. After his cheerful "How's it going, love?" Darcy didn't know what to say to approach the matter delicately. She'd never been good at that. So as usual, she waded right in. "Um..it's not going. At least, I'm not going. Uh, not going anywhere, I mean. Anywhere special. Uh...tonight." He laughed. She felt her cheeks flush, but Darcy knew his laugh was genuine amusement. He wasn't being cruel. "Dammit Jason," she said, an answering smile in her voice. "There's just no tactful way to do this, so to hell with it. What are you doing tonight? Have a date? If you don't, do you want one?" |

The long moment of silence must have made her knickers moist with sweat but he couldn't speak. He was trying to suppress a laugh. It wasn't that he
found her request funny but her delivery was hilarious.
"Love, you must be desperate to be asking me for a date and I don't mean it in a bad way, I mean desperate to get the hell out of your house. How could I refuse an offer like that?" He really didn't conceal the chuckle at this point. "What would you like to do, go riding, catch a flick or find some way to torment the old man, love?" Of course he was referring to Sean. Who else would he want to annoy? ![]() |

"I think...I want dinner. Nothing fancy, even just a burger is fine. I want a drink, or maybe even a couple of them. And I want to talk. No movie, no
horses, and," she chuckled softly, "definitely no Sean. I don't think I could keep up with him tonight."
Darcy took a deep breath, thought of Bud's sweetly curved mouth, his piercing eyes, his broad strong hands. But he wasn't there, he'd lied to her, stood her up again, and Jason Morgan was interesting, handsome, and charming. And she didn't owe Bud White a damn thing anymore. "Tonight I just...want you," she quietly told Jason, and it was the truth. |

He heard what lay beneath in her voice. What the hell happened to her to make her feel this down? One way or the other he'd get her laughing if it took him
all night.
"Right, mate. I've got just the place in mind. We can drink like fish, eat like swine and dance like fools. How does that suit you? It's in a part of town where I'm pretty sure no one will know either of us as well. Anonymity has its advantages. No one will bust our arses if we get shitfaced. In other words, we have free rein to do as we like." He winked and made a clicking sound before he realized that she couldn't see him over the phone. "I'll pick you up in few ticks..and pack an overnight bag. You may need your toothbrush and some clean knickers." ![]() |
|||
Darcy15 |

He already had her laughing. Clean knickers...where did the Aussies and Brits get that term? "Going to pack right now," Darcy told him,
smiling wickedly. And there was no mistaking the lightness that suddenly infused her heart and voice. Jason. And an overnight bag. That sounded so damn good.
He was true to his word. She barely had time to throw her toiletries and a nightgown, a sexy piece of silk and lace if there ever was one, into a bag along with clean 'knickers', jeans and a T and he was there, knocking on her front door, lounging against the lintel with a sweet smile curving his lips and a hot light in his eyes. That was something new, something bright and hot and delicious that Jason had never really shown her before. Before, there was always Sean or his friend Sandi around, creating an entirely different dynamic between them that hovered between friendship and sexual attraction. She and Jason had never really had the chance to be alone, but tonight it was going to be different. Darcy couldn't stop the excitement that fluttered like moths against a porch light in her stomach. Unconsciously, her eyes went to his mouth and she licked her lips. They looked so...inviting. She blinked as if suddenly waking from a dream and met his eyes. Smiling, Darcy cocked her head and said, "Lead on, big fella. I'm ready to drink like a fish, eat like a pig, and dance til my feet fall off." She held up the overnight bag so he'd be sure to see it and know she was willing. "Want to carry this for me?" |

He took the bag from her hand and bent forward to kiss her cheek like the Spanky would kiss Darla. It was sweet but hard to translate.
"Seems the weather is turning a bit nasty on us and we have a bit of a drive. No worries, love. I brought the Land Rover so we'll be apples. It wasn't until he had her safely seated in the SUV that they heard the truth about the pending storm. The radio buzzed in that annoying way it did before impending disaster and the even toned bloke announced what was on tap. "The national weather service has issued a hurricane warning extending from the South Carolina/Georgia border to the North Carolina Virginia line. Hurricane Bronwyn has developed suddenly in the southern Atlantic and the expected landfall will be somewhere along the outer banks. Please take immediate action to secure your property and yourselves as this is considered to be a very dangerous storm, expecting to be a Catagory three at landfall. Stay tuned for further information." Jason had been through his share of South Pacific storms and what could the Atlantic offer that would be worse than that? Ha! "Hey." He reached to touch her hand. "No worries. We'll be safe. I promise." His smile was hardly reassuring though as he put the vehicle in gear and pulled away from her home. The pub he was taking her too was slightly inland. What could happen there? ![]() |

Darcy15 |

"Maybe we shouldn't go," Darcy worried, staring at the radio's digital readout as if it were a television screen. "To the pub, I
mean. I probably should take care of the storm shutters..." She turned to look at his handsome profile. "I know that's not what you had in mind
for the evening but I guess I should be practical if there's a hurricane coming."
